<Eric119> I think 2^15 is more than "a bit better" than 15!. 32768 versus 1307674368000.

<Tom 7> Are you both 11? =) I think I was making silly little games when I was that old, but those were different days. I am not sure what to recommend to you if you want to start making games today. I have some experience with Flash, which--although it has a completely terrible programming language--has a lot of nice graphics stuff that make it pretty convenient for playing around with game ideas. I've also played some very good games made with Multimedia Fusion, though I have never used it.

Also, Escape is an open source game, so if you learned C++ you could play around with it. It's pretty big, though, and who really wants to program in C++ these days?

<Tom 7> There are actually 2 to the 15th power (32768) combinations, which is a bit better than 15 factorial. I will probably just open this one in the editor to solve it--noname's observation that a bot on a wire is a pixel-perfect way to hide some information was quite a brilliant subversion of one of Escape's core principles: that the puzzle should not be based on hidden information. I still consider this a bug and intend to add a key to let you see through bots, like there's a key to show the destination of panels and bot numbers and the contents of the alternate layer.

<Tom 7> I certainly would agree it's for the brain. (That's why my favorite kind of level is about outsmarting the player, not about bot shoving or guessing--neither one is very smart.) On the other hand, I think making levels is a big part of Escape, and it certainly uses the level creator's brain to try to make a level meeting a certain theme or criterion. Of course it's best when that level can also be fun for people to play, but if it's just a demonstration of something, that can be interesting too. (Maybe we ought to have a collection for non-levels that are primarily curiosities?) I think level contests like these are a nice way of maintaining Escape's emphasis on puzzle composition.

<Gil Anthony> Now your talking, this is one mind messing level. Only one combination of 15! is the right one....very very very few to none people will solve this one.In fact you and Tom VII maybe the only two to complete it.If I Do It'll be sure luck! for now I'm clueless.A+ level in my book.GIL ANTHONY

4 x 4 contest 4618 Thu 06 Dec 2007 15:49
<Kacper> Yeah,I have thought of that.I did it 2 times:
1:For testing it
2:for creating a solution to send it

At least it's a record.

Don't worry,You'll have lots of fun pretty soon and there will be another level contest(I still don't have an idea for it)!

P.S.Your Welcome

<Gil Anthony> Now this is more like it!,So far I Haven't solved it.Tom VII would agree this game is for the brain. The 4X4 levels are one to three button games and leave very little reasoning to be done, except for the designer with the mental help of their computer. Those are good levels and quick.Just not much play in them. Gil Anthony

4 x 4 contest 4618 Thu 06 Dec 2007 15:41
<Gil Anthony> (SPOILER) you can just wedge something for your down arrow, walk away come back and your done!.I See the beauty in the effort and the math but an escape Pro would give you a low score for playability.Good level though,Thx Kacper.
