<Tom 7> Sheila: When you rate a level, it checks if you beat the record, and prompts you to send your solution in that case.

You can also select a level, press ctrl-m, then select your solution, hit ctrl-u, and make sure you check the [ ] speedrun only box.

<Max> (SPOILER) This is not a bug, John -- in fact this exotic phenomenon is already lurking in an existing Escape level. ;)

<Doom> I must have missed something then. Someone could make a mod if they think that it's possible to do it with a couple more blocks. I wasn't able to do it, though.

Untitled Sun 05 Jun 2005 08:58
<Doom> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 20 moves (old: 22).
Seriously, why upload a level like this? There's nothing to do. Terrible...

Crazy Castle Sun 05 Jun 2005 00:30
<SHEILA> It says the record for this level is 211 moves, I solved it in 209 moves. How do you change the record time?

<John Lewis> I like this concept (reminds me of an old Chip's Challenge level). I think it could have been harder, though...

But I still enjoyed it!
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Not too hard. I liked the bot lock. But, I feel like I could have probably packed one or two more...

The Dalek Question II Sat 04 Jun 2005 21:48
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Yeah, this is legit and intended, if a bit surprising. Note that the dalek steps onto the panel, but never steps off (because he dies and becomes part of the pile of broken robots). Panels are triggered by the edge effect of stepping onto or off them, not by the presence or absense of something on them. (See also http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/tom7misc/escapex/design.txt?only_with_tag=HEAD&view=markup for more substantial discussion.)

It's up to level authors whether or not to make use of this fact, since it is a bit unintuitive, but it's not a bug.
<John Lewis> I noticed this behavior with daleks and panels while playing the robot escape plan. Is this a bug?

<Max> A very enjoyable puzzle! Nice one. (And an interesting little cook in mjn's speedrun [which I assume is the same as Tom's?]).

<Max> Very clever.

Recharge Riddle (v2) Sat 04 Jun 2005 11:51
<Max> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 93 moves (old: 103).
A little faster...

<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Cute, with a good "trick"!

a day in the zoo Sat 04 Jun 2005 09:21
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Well, the specific thing that tricked me (and Brian) up is the robot on the bottom-right; if you kill him (on the broken bot) or trap him somewhere other than that specific spot, then he won't go through the teleporter when it appears later, and then you're screwed. Maybe if there were a panel in that spot to make sure he was there before moving on...
<hobbyist> (SPOILER) hi, funny, I was thinking that those robots should behave "constructively" as long as you walk the straight way and operate the switches that you find on the way. but well, i know the solution, so it's hard to imagine what other ideas people might have. (I also don't think there are switches that affect later phases of the level, at least I tried to avoid that.)

Force Field Sat 04 Jun 2005 04:27
<Doom> Very easy but quite interesting level in my opinion.

<Doom> Something for all Sokoban people out there...

Recharge Riddle (v2) Fri 03 Jun 2005 23:25
<Tom 7> Oh, looks like you figured it out. ;)
<Tom 7> Try deleting it yourself, Max; just press 'del' when the level is selected (with key icon) in triage. Let me know if it doesn't work.

Button Blocker: The Challenge (v2) Fri 03 Jun 2005 23:21
<Tom 7> John: You should be able to delete levels yourself now. Press 'del' from the game when selecting the level inside triage. Let me know if it doesn't work.

<bpotetz> (SPOILER) Wow - the original solution is more cool.
<bpotetz> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 101 moves (old: 112).
Cute.

Button Blocker: The Challenge (v2) Fri 03 Jun 2005 20:13
<John Lewis> Please delete old version.
<John Lewis> This was how I originally intended for this to be solved - with only one pipe block.

Recharge Riddle Fri 03 Jun 2005 20:02
<Max> (SPOILER) Okay fixed. It's certainly something of a coincidence that your solution was possible! Sorry about that. Go ahead and delete this one when you feel like it.
