Skills Training: sphere pushing (200) Thu 25 Aug 2005 01:44
<mjn> (SPOILER) Added solution "Alternate":
Huh, apparently there's more than one way to do this! My solution is different, although still exactly 200 moves. (although I'm sure this will cease to be surprising once I figure out the theory behind this...)

<John Lewis> I love this level! Neat concept, btw. I'm attempting to make a level that uses a similar behavior with transponders...

Only 80 levels left to solve!!! :-D

No Shoving Wed 24 Aug 2005 12:35

<Doom> (SPOILER) Well, this level isn't really 'based on' the transponder trick. Did people really not know about it yet? There's at least Brandon's Escapealooza (or something) that includes this trick. (although it's not important part of that level) I don't think, that's where I got it, though.

<Jeek> (SPOILER) Cook: Didn't use the teleporter at all :)

Break the Floor Wed 24 Aug 2005 09:19
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) You beat me to it.. I had been working on a level based around this one-way transponder behavior.

Nice level!
<mjn> (SPOILER) Hey, that's a neat trick with the transponder.
<bpotetz> Extremely cool idea. Nice design.

<noname> > do you have a computer program that generates all these routes?

No. I just played the level several times, gradually improving my routes. The solution replay feature is also helpful, since I can just watch the replay and realize what I missed. And it also helps that the game is untimed, since I can just pause at anytime and recall what needs to be done next.
<John Lewis> (SPOILER) Oh man!! noname, I often wonder, do you have a computer program that generates all these routes? :-)

Wire Maze Remix Tue 23 Aug 2005 22:15

<Max> Yesss, I have sphere-pushing skills!

my new level Mon 22 Aug 2005 09:37
<Tom 7> OK, I deleted it, but Brandon can upload again if he changes the author to be accurate (or just non-impersonating!)

As for moving all of his levels into sophomoric/, I do think they are generally on par with those. But I don't want to be cruel to eager new players, because that can be discouraging...

Still, it seems, Brandon, that people would appreciate more care taken with your levels.
<mjn> Hey, I *thought* this seemed a little too easy for noname. Man, impersonation ain't cool.
(Accident, maybe? Perhaps he opened up one of noname's levels to see where the panels went and then just went on to make this without remembering to change the author...)
<Dorothy> Why all the hate for Brandon? So he doesn't make a level to your taste, let's not be immature about it.
<noname> No, I have absolutely nothing to do with this level. In fact, I don't know Brandon at all.

So, Brandon, how old are you? Ten?

Tom 7, please delete this level to avoid confusion. I also suggest that all Brandon levels uploaded so far be put into Annoying: Sophomoric folder, since this is where they belong IMO.
<Doom> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 108 moves (old: 112).
I really don't believe that noname made this. It's of typical "Brandon quality"...
<John Lewis> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 116 moves (old: 120).
Brandon, did noname really make this?

When Push Comes to Love (v3) Sun 21 Aug 2005 00:22
<bpotetz> (SPOILER) Added solution "Hey, No Shoving!":
John's bot-pushing solution is more elegant, but non-pushing solutions are still possible.

The Only Dalek Sat 20 Aug 2005 03:23
<Doom> I've not solved this one yet, because removing the machinery removes the original solution too. I assume, that this level uses noname's solution for the original version. I got pretty close, though.

Needle or a Haystack Fri 19 Aug 2005 15:55
