<TheKurgan> The only fun part of this level was navigating it in the bizzaro/bizaro or however you spell that world view...very interesting that.

<Tom 7> Definitely turn on panel destinations (press 'd') and zoom out for this one.

Here We Go Round Mon 26 Mar 2007 17:24
<John Lewis> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 217 moves (old: 253).
Forgot to mention when I uploaded this level: this is my entry in both the "small/difficult" and "speedrunner" level categories. I didn't know it was possible at first, but when I was able to solve it, I just had to upload it!

<Henri> I've been a bit behind with the different versions, and just replayed this one only to see that I hadn't even seen Erik's cook before. I found it pretty neat, actually (wouldn't call it 'boring'), and I think that having one version for the original (cook doesn't work) and one version for the cook (original solution doesn't work) is perfectly fine.

In summary, variations lose a lot of importance if there's one specific solution that works in all of them, and Erik's solution is different enough to justify a modification.
<mm> Hi Henri, I guess it's up to you to solve or comment the problems we're acutally having with our mods of your wonderful original level?! Could you please let us students know what the great master thinks about our work?

Thanks! ;-)

<TheKurgan> (SPOILER) Cook: I used a block to hold down the door thing prematurely

Not Enough Block Shortage Sat 24 Mar 2007 17:50
<John Lewis> (SPOILER) Is that so?

In that case, if it's so boring, why were only four people able to solve the level and rate it when I originally uploaded it? (me, apparently you, Kirima, and one other person) If only two people besides the two of us were able to find it, I can only conclude that a cook like this takes skill and effort to locate. Besides, I wasn't even the one who originally discovered the cook - Eric did. Are you trying to say that his efforts in locating it and sharing it with everyone are utterly pointless? Is the cook so obvious that it marches up in a bright pink outfit to everyone playing the level and says, "I'm a cook! Find me and exploit me!"?

I can also conclude that if you completely loathe this level and give it such abysmal ratings, that you must be the one also giving disgraceful, low style ratings to the other recent levels I've uploaded, which I spent quite a considerable amount of time creating. May I ask why? May I ask what constitutes a level that you would give a style rating of "9" or "10" to? Have you ever even given such a rating to any level here at ALL? If you rate your own levels, what kinds of ratings do you give to them?

And must I ask why you gave this level a difficulty rating of 3? Sure, it may not be as involved in execution as the original, intended solution (I would difficulty-rate Kirima's level higher myself), but is the solution here *that* easy to locate? If it is, why didn't more people solve it when I originally uploaded it? Let's take the levels you've uploaded that share that same difficulty rating: there have been 9, 10, 10, 10, and 12 people who have solved them, respectively. Why do you think there were so many people who were able to beat those levels? Because they weren't very difficult. Because the solutions weren't as concealed and difficult to find.

Need I even go further?

:/
<wowei> sorry, JL, no style-points again.

i dont get it, why you wanna take a pretty fine level and make a boring cook the only solution.

<John Lewis> (SPOILER) Very nice, Kirima! I love the original solution a bunch too. I'm still going to try uploading a version that forces Eric's cook without providing a way to play the level the "intended" way, though. Again, great job! =)

<Ian> Usually, you break out of jail, not into it... either way, nicely done level even though I didn't get very far at all.

<mm> John, I'm sorry, I didn't express myself well enough: what I wanted to say was: this version does force us to solve the mod the way the original was cooked by for example Eric - whereas the mod is still solvable the way Henri intended. I'd love to see a mod that forces the original solution because that one is just so beautiful! I had a third, different solution of the original level, but I've lost if unfortunately cause I didn't bookmark it. All I know for sure is that your mod is not solvable that third way.

<John Lewis> (SPOILER) mm, thanks for letting me know! Could you please upload the "cooked" solution? I'm probably going to redo this level to make this even tighter...
<mm> (SPOILER) 7-7-5

But now I'm not too sure about this rating... In fact, I can't see the changing point of your mod-level, in my opinion, the mod does not contribute to whatever could be new - there's no new thing about it.

And the cooks are NOT eliminated at all. I guess my rating should be somewhat lower.

<TheKurgan> (SPOILER) Cook:
it seemed I skipped a few on a teleport...it's either a cook or a badly designed level. I'll give mark the benefit of the doubt.

revenge of the computers 2 Sun 18 Mar 2007 11:57
<Tom 7> I like when the computers get revenge on each other. ;)
<John Lewis> I'm not smart enough either, but fortunate enough to have found a program online to assist in solving it :)
<mm> (SPOILER) Wow, congratlulations John!

I'm not able to solve any of those "Revenge" levels, I'm just not smart enough!

But I'm smart enough to write stupid comments! :-)
<John Lewis> I'm just happy to have solved this...not even going to attempt breaking David's amazing speedrun! (if it's even possible at all!)
