I've been a bit behind with the different versions, and just replayed this one only to see that I hadn't even seen Erik's cook before. I found it pretty neat, actually (wouldn't call it 'boring'), and I think that having one version for the original (cook doesn't work) and one version for the cook (original solution doesn't work) is perfectly fine. In summary, variations lose a lot of importance if there's one specific solution that works in all of them, and Erik's solution is different enough to justify a modification. |

Hi Henri, I guess it's up to you to solve or comment the problems we're acutally having with our mods of your wonderful original level?! Could you please let us students know what the great master thinks about our work? Thanks! ;-) |

Added solution "Another cook": You can use the hugbot as a spare block. |

I FINALLY got it. Thanks for the hints.

No problem, go ahead. I actually have an improved v2 in my level directory that varies the beginning a bit and tries to fix the biggest cooks of this version. However, there are still some ways to solve it trivially that I didn't manage to fix, so I've not uploaded it. |

Doom, do you mind if I'd make a mod of this level?

Ok, I don't want to give it all away at once so I'll be a little cryptic. After you connect the wires for the red switch there's only one spot where you'll be able to stand to push the button. So first, you'll have to fill that in with something. Where should you stand to push it into place? You can't do it alone. Is there someone who could help you put things in the right spot at the right time? P.S. please use the spoiler check box when discussing solutions |

Thanks for the comment to "The other Mom" but I had that part, still can't get my brain around the red switch. Really want to get this one to see the amazing solution by Doom and the cooks. BTW I noticed there are actually 3 Moms having problems here. It must really be a "MoM" thing. Maybe my 4 year old can get it. Thanks in advance.

Without going into too much detail: If you use the D and Y keys you'll see that the green slider will make the exit appear. To get the slider in place you'll have to manipulate the stop signs. So you'll need safe passage to the buttons that control those stop signs.

O.K. maybe it's a mom thing but I have also had a complete brain freeze with this level. I agree with the other mom, ANY SMALL hint would be more than a little appreciated at this point. PLEASE!!!

Is there any way to get a hint on this level. I feel like there has to be something that I'm just not getting?

Great level, this was a challenge! I cooked it like mjn and estatin and was really surprised by Doom's amazing original solution.

Yes, that's a cook. I'll try to fix it, but right now I have no idea how to do it.

P.S. That's a great trick down below with the hole next to the red switch. Took me a good long time to think of that...
4715 | Block Shortage | mjn (118) | Thu 17 Nov 2005 05:00 | SPOILER |
Cooked, I believe: if you use the blue and green switches on the first part, you can trap the hugbot between two stop signs and have him push the green steel himself, making it unnecessary to murder him.
