<John Lewis> (SPOILER) wowei: Upon further examination, I believe I've found a setup where both of the "tricks" can be applied. :) New version forthcoming.

Jumps (v6) Thu 31 Jul 2008 20:56
<wowei> (SPOILER) mom1, your highness,

imho the right way for solving is to ask questions, and i think you are doing fine. Ask yourself small and simple questions, the more questions there are, the higher is the possibility that there is _THE_RIGHT_QUESTION_.

Max's great idea was the origin for all these jumps.

what about the right chamber?
do i need to go to the second room?
do i need company?
do i have to return?
alone?

what about timing?
can i send IT (not him, <grin>) before me?
can we enter together?
shall i go first?
.
.
.

keep on keeping on!

<John Lewis> (SPOILER) noname: Wow! I had no idea the final room could be beaten that way. That is too cool! My original intent was to use the green sphere in the second room (of course, the green panel is a red herring), but your solution is much more slick. New version coming soon.
<wowei> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 432 moves (old: 434).
Waaaa noname, just saw your record online, and it's been me who wanted to surprise JL. Didnt see any solutions yet, so i dont know if its cooked, but i guess no.

JL, another great puzzle and it's so mean, mean and bad, especially the second chamber.

This is the same as my old speedrun to the original level.

Jumps (mjn's variation v2) Thu 31 Jul 2008 15:47
<Mom1> (SPOILER) Hi to you too mm. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who is having such a hard time with these levels. I also thank you John for all the hints but my poor little brain is still blank :) So I as well will keep on muddling through until that light bulb finally lights up and I say WHAT WAS I THINKING!!!
<John Lewis> (SPOILER) One last hint: there's a good reason why there are quite a few panels connecting to the trap. :)

The Quandary of Free Will Thu 31 Jul 2008 13:12
<mm> *lol* :-) Merci!
<John Lewis> (SPOILER) Very elegant speedrun, your highness. :) *bows*
<mm> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 212 moves (old: 413).
Oops, my solution isn't that long... ;-)

Jumps (mjn's variation v2) Thu 31 Jul 2008 11:57
<mm> (SPOILER) Hi Mom1, I'm having the exactly same problem with all those "jump" levels! ;-) I just can't figure it out. John, thanks for trying to help - unfortunately naming the problem itself doesn't give me any clue! But I guess telling us more than you did would probably ruin the level. I'll stay patient and continue to give the levels a try once in a while.

Crosshairs (the Potetz Variation) Thu 31 Jul 2008 01:04
<John Lewis> A beautiful brain-teaser you guys have crafted here - this was fun to figure out!
