Binkopel 2.6 Mon 28 Sep 2009 12:57
<radiant> (SPOILER) Apparently devin thinks there's something wrong with the solutions we're taking, even though they don't skip any rooms, and his own solutions vary wildly from the 400s to the 600s.

Who knows.
<wowei> i'm too lazy to examine any further right now, why are there so many versions of this? fixing cooks? is here any improvement over the first version?
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 328 moves (old: 454).
Now this one feels rather substantially different.

Binkopel 1.7 Mon 28 Sep 2009 04:38
<gary> Hmm... I am still repeating the series?

Single File (pre-Broken version) Mon 28 Sep 2009 00:54
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 37 moves (old: 48).
For some reason I never subscribed to quarantine until now. Obviously the solution is reused.

Binkopel 2.3 Sun 27 Sep 2009 19:22
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 355 moves (old: 612).
I don't know what it is you want to force the player to do in this level, but if it can't be enforced in this many attempts (and it certainly isn't destructive of large parts of the level, as with "Down the Line") then you might just consider accepting it as an alternate way of filling out the goal.

Binkopel 2.0 Sun 27 Sep 2009 17:53
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 381 moves (old: 650).
I need only refer you to 2x1 levels such as "Modern Art" to discredit that: such levels are perfectly rigid but not difficult at all.

Levels like Rouge-Like(-Like) have their own way of bringing up the difficulty, which you really have to experience to get a grasp on.

Jambon Dili 2 Sun 27 Sep 2009 16:44
<devin> (SPOILER) Cook: i didnt use the stuff at the bottom of the map

Binkopel 1.8 Sun 27 Sep 2009 16:33
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 362 moves (old: 487).
What, are you aiming for a rigidity 10 level where there's only one correct way to do it and anything else is cheating?
<devin> 1st room 3 updates 2nd room 1 update 3rd room 0 updates 4th room 0 updates 5th room 0 updates 6th room 2 updates

Binkopel 1.7 Sun 27 Sep 2009 13:26
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 390 moves (old: 411).
This one gives the impression that it's immensely cookable only to fall just a bit short. I'd say that's generally a good thing (as long as the cook is indeed impossible).

Stay Out Of Single File Sun 27 Sep 2009 02:09
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 116 moves (old: 216).
I like this solution. It's so different, yet so similar.
<devin> i just used Y and holy crap
<devin> the only thing different about this is the 3 and 7 bots are closer

Stay In Single File Sat 26 Sep 2009 20:29
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 166 moves (old: 262).
Assembly Line maybe, but there's only a passing similarity to the original Single File, and Quintuple File removes even that.

Really it's more like Tutorial 19.

Quintuple File (v2) Sun 20 Sep 2009 10:34
<radiant> I didn't make this with the deliberate intent of having solutions that worked on both versions, but then I never looked for an exhaustive list of all possible solutions to the first one, so it's not inconceivable at least.
<gary> Sorry, this was done with the Control-0 function.

This one is FUN Thu 17 Sep 2009 08:34
<Pat> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 48 moves (old: 49).

ok

-Sweep It- Wed 16 Sep 2009 18:07
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 267 moves (old: 295).
What would we mod it into?

Oh, I guess the teleport's not necessary, you might take that out and clean it up.
<devin> can anybody modify this? lol but seriously

Bomb & Stop (More Securitized) Tue 15 Sep 2009 03:06
<gary> ...what's the point? Illegal change...

Drawing The Cast 3 Sun 13 Sep 2009 14:40
<radiant> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 337 moves (old: 715).
Ctrl-0'd

Assembly Line (v4.1) Sun 13 Sep 2009 12:01
<radiant> (SPOILER) First off, be sure to use the N key for identifying the individual bots. When it comes time for them to move, remember that bot #1 moves immediately after you do (if able), then #2 (whose movement options may be affected by what #1 did), and so on.

Armed with that much, think to yourself: exactly what is it you need to do in this level, and what might you be able to assemble to help you do it?
<devin> help me
<mm> Holy Swiss GOAT! Radiant, this level has always been just far beyond my horizon - anyhow... ;-)
