<mark> Nice mods Dave as always, just noticed them ten minutes ago.
Tried desperately to solve both only managed the one.
Going to meet friends for a beer and a game of cards.(won't be fit to solve the last one till tommorow)
Glad to see you speed run both ways of trick 15.
Hope you don't mind me making these levels, this is the only place i could think someone might be stuck in a R L level.
With me i always want people to be on the same page.

<Dave> (SPOILER) Added solution "And the other way":
Just for completeness. |

<mark> (SPOILER) Incredible speedrun noname, new run 916 not added yet.
<noname> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 974 moves (old: 1454).
I initially thought that I had broken the level, but on second thought, maybe it's not that significant, since Mark's old solution still probably won't work. |

<mark> Hi mm,for my last mod whatever harder have a look at Learn a trick 9.(thats why i made it)
Where could that be applied, does not work on Dave's level.
Still hard even when you get the trick.
Good luck...
<mm> (SPOILER) Congrats guys! I am desperately clueless... (No matter if it's called WM or RL)
<Dave> (SPOILER) A litte tweak and the original solution works on the non-mod. It also makes one trip back a forth across the level completely redundant, so it's actually quite a bit shorter that way.
I suggest you take the speedrun Mark, it's yours (for now).
<Dave> (SPOILER) Ah. That should make it more interesting.
<mark> Just read my last comment, it might be a little confusing.
When i said under the laser i meant in the y layer.
<mark> Super level Dave however i did it differently again.
I'm not going to mod it, there are plenty of them already.
Liked your solution and if you want to find mine add a patch of rough under the left hand laser.
If you don't want to do that just ask and i will post solution 1454.
Adjusted previous level scores down a little.
<Dave> (SPOILER) Yes, as far as I am aware the solution will solve the earlier 'Rouge-Like Re...' series except 'forever'. I say 'The solution', but if I know you, you will find another way :)
I think I would have 'eventually' beaten VM21 if it was a solitary level simply because what appears to be the logical order to the various tasks is, in fact, the correct order. Acheiving these tasks and positioning the bots etc. ready for the next phase is another matter. It would have been a very long haul! It would have also have involved pencil and paper planning and probably a resort to the editor to create a series of test levels starting from various intermediate checkpoints. Drastic but probably necessary, it's served me well before, Assembly Line comes to mind.
This kind of approach doesn't really work that well on something like the Rouge-Like Re levels because everything affects everything else, there is, for instance, no clear half way point. The only real checkpoint is the first entry into the bottom left room.
PS. I completely missed the Learn a Trick hint. In truth, I've only just twigged which one you are talking about.
PPS. Have you tried your idea on R-L-L?
<mark> Congrats on both levels Dave.
My first 10 thanks.I don't know whether i'm pleased or frustrated at the moment, your mod has just blitzed my solution.(back to the drawing board for me)
Your dalek panel is killing me.
My solution was my one and only solve of noname's whatever a different way,it took hours and is a bit tired.(needs a speedrun).
I was trying to help with the learn a trick but you obviously did not need it.(Did you notice?)
VM21 that is a very satisfying solve.
If someone had just made VM21 no mod series do you think you could have done it?
I remember when you first put the balls in and it was not to easy then.
As for keeper's of the rouge mods i would not have a clue.
My last solution solved all except whatever forever.
I'm guessing that your new solution will solve all as well.
Off to play however now..
<Dave> VM21 done, thanks for the heads up!
<Dave> (SPOILER) Right. Finally done Mark's 'whatever harder'. Very different solution again. To be fair though, I did start out trying to attack it as intended.
I suppose at some point, maybe when we are all on the same page, we should have a bit of a clear out of these levels. |

<Dave> (SPOILER) Correction: Exit 1 - 156.
<Dave> (SPOILER) Found it, changed one of the bots: exit 1 - 164. Much easier solution than my earlier one.
<Dave> (SPOILER) Had another look at exit 3, now down to 82. As for exit 1 ... hmmm.
<Jim> (SPOILER) Solved 3 in 90 moves.
<Jim> (SPOILER) Dave, I solved 1 in 165 moves. Still havent figured out 3 or 4.
<mark> All exits done 1 and 3 are the best.
I'd allready done the others and had not even seen these two.
Boosted up the style points 7 levels in 1 what a bonus.
Great spot Dave look foward to your mod if you make it. |

<Dave> (SPOILER) I already got the point, N7, I've been experimenting already. I want to keep the original level intact as much as possible, if this is feasible is, at this stage, indeterminate. If it proves otherwise, I have the funamental idea for a funny level.
Go to the Escape FB page, I'm the last person to leave a comment, find me and PM me. Then I'll explain.
<N7DOT> This sounds big. actually, scratch that out. This sounds HUGE.
<Dave> Correction: Give me a couple of weeks :)
<N7DOT> Just make sure that, if your version is supposed to replace this one in being a candidate for veryfunny then make sure to mention the level's comments in the title ;) |
