<Tom 7> Good, I'm glad it has a little difficulty, at least. It's sometimes hard to tell with these tiny ones.
<Max> This one is surprisingly hard for its size! Very clever.

<bje> The solution to this one took me by surprise!

Hardest IQ Carrier (EXPERTS ONLY!!!!!!!!) Tue 15 Feb 2005 19:30
<Max> Ha, yeah, it did take a while, but it's only fair. ;)
<Tom 7> LOL, max.

I'm glad you went through the trouble of solving this one just to torment us. ;)

<Max> Yeah, and what's with the low style ratings? This level is beautiful!

Hardest IQ Carrier (EXPERTS ONLY!!!!!!!!) Tue 15 Feb 2005 18:29
<Max> omg this level is really HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!

<Tom 7> How could you guys rate this as anything but 0 for difficulty and 10 for rigidity? THERE IS ONLY ONE MOVE TO MAKE AND IT CAUSES YOU TO WIN!

The Chamber (v2) Tue 15 Feb 2005 18:24
<Tom 7> This is a really cool level.. it needs a new kind of reasoning that I haven't seen before.

It also serves as a good worst-case test for the new panel animations (which perhaps make the level more confusing, anyway)...

<bpotetz> Don't issue me any challenges! I've got too much work to do!

Extraction Tue 15 Feb 2005 14:29
<Tom 7> Yeah, sokoban does always get easier after the first block or two comes out, huh?

Harder IQ Carrier Tue 15 Feb 2005 14:28
<Tom 7> Hah, yeah. ;)

I am interested to see how long you can hold out, solving every level that is uploaded!

<Tom 7> As near as I can tell, this level was made as a sort of fan tribute to a handheld radio shack sokoban game called IQ Carrier. Since John Polhemus submitted it to another free Sokoban program, I'm assuming that he's okay with it being in the Escape collection.

I'm perfectly happy to have Sokoban-style levels in Escape (Joshua Bone's levels are really great, for instance), but of course I can't permit copyrighted levels from other games to be used. Unless it's really obviously a copy, I'll leave them until someone complains. Anyway, it's better if the levels are original compositions, don't you think?

<bpotetz> I must be completely OCD to solve this level AFTER having solved Hard IQ Carrier.

Hard IQ Carrier Tue 15 Feb 2005 14:04
<bpotetz> I agree, Max. This level was a snooze. Don't attempt this level unless you've got something else going on to amuse yourself. Maybe books on tape.

Anyway, I was also wondering - what the hell is "IQ Carrier" supposed to mean, anyway? A quick google search reveals that IQ Carrier is a collection of Sokoban levels that were removed from the macintosh shareware distribution because "they are evidently still sold commercially in Japan". Better start working on your defense, Tom. Interestingly, the original level this was based on seems to more closely resemble Tom's version, where each block is needed. (See:
www.sourcecode.se/sokoban/levtext.php?file=TitleScreens.slc
)

Unfortunately, I still have no idea what "IQ carrier" means. Maybe you have to be Japanese.

<Tom 7> Sorry max!
<Max> Nnnnnngnnnghghggggghghhhhhhhhh

Hard IQ Carrier Tue 15 Feb 2005 00:09
<Max> Man, what an obnoxious level!! A better title would be "Patience Carrier," since all it really took was the determination to push blocks around for over 5000 (!!!!) moves.

1924 11th Street Sokoban Mon 14 Feb 2005 23:31
<LIL Gil> 651 moves

Extraction Mon 14 Feb 2005 19:18
<Max> Wow, that was pretty tough. Cool level!

Harder IQ Carrier Mon 14 Feb 2005 18:46
<Tom 7> Might as well make 'em use all the blocks!!

(Hint to completists: If you solve this level, the same exact solution will work for 'Hard IQ Carrier'; so you can save yourself some finger irritation. After solving it, press ctrl-0 in the triage directory, and type the name of your player file (mine is tom.esp), and it should find this solution and use it for 'Hard IQ Carrier'.)

Hard IQ Carrier Mon 14 Feb 2005 18:41
<Tom 7> 5543 moves!

There are some good parts, but too many errands for my tastes. Too cruel!

Extraction Mon 14 Feb 2005 18:08
<Tom 7> Damn, this is hard.
