<Jim> (SPOILER) Whew, finally got it.
<N7DOT> (SPOILER) It took me a couple tries to get a solution, too. I feel that it's possible to make an even harder version (the number of dots here was my limit; I would have preferred a higher dot to block ratio). The nature of the level does admittedly lead to some unpredictability. Each push creates a fair number of new possible moves, but also prevents quite a few more, leading to the ending game being rather constrained.
I was thinking of a puzzle where the 'current panel flips' idea would happen for every move, but at that point most would be trivial or impossible. So I think this is a better use.
<Jim> (SPOILER) At least for me, I'm finding this way more difficult than a 4 rating. I've tried 3 different times now and the closest I can get is 2 dots left.
<Dave> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 79 moves (old: 99).
<Dave> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 99 moves (old: 114).
First solve
<N7DOT> 'RetCon' uploaded by N7DOT:
Every time you push a gold block, the tile you are standing on is flipped. It's up to you to use this to your advantage.
(thanks to radiant for the epic mechanism for incrementing timers only when a block is pushed) |

<Dave> (SPOILER) Mark, look up Martin Gardner. Better still, look up some of his books. You will find a lot of stuff which has been implemented on Escape. You may find things you can implement yourself. I do have one level inspired by these papers sitting in /mylevels, one day it will get round to cookproofing it... |

<mark> Escape not just a game but an education..
I did not know who Reuben Garrett Lucius was.
I'd never heard of a turing machine I thought at first it was touring spelt wrong.
Now i know who C Dudley Langford is...
I must admit i did read the puzzle on Langtons cube's.
I did not really understand what was meant until after solving the level, and a google search produced nothing.
Langford's cubes a different matter, short clip on youtube to explain. |

<Dave> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 324 moves (old: 476).
<N7DOT> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 476 moves (old: 536).
Removing the unneeded blue panel activation. I do have to complement Gil on exploiting the ability to go direct to the 4th room, which I worried might happen, but I don't think that's too big of a deal. |

<N7DOT> oops, that was meant for 'langton' cubes level...
<N7DOT> Just realized, it should be Langford, not Langton. |

<mark> (SPOILER) Added solution "Different":
Totally different...Don't think anyone had chance to catch this.
<Gil Anthony> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 536 moves (old: 627).
Nice puzzles and I'm sure someone can beat my speed record
<mark> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 627 moves (old: 664).
Scrub last comment here is my opening bid.
<mark> (SPOILER) Nice puzzle,i did not do any room as intended but got stuck in the second room so long no chance of any speedrun.Had to view original solution to see the twist at the end as there was not one the way i solved. |

<mark> Hi N7DOT,from your last couple of comment's about the chat level and it being buried i'm guessing you don't know this.
When in any directory instead of scrolling down press
Ctrl + a .... Sorts out into alphabetical order.
Press any letter you like jumps straight to it.For example you want to play Saftey glass by Tom 7 in the triage.
Open up triage..Ctrl + a....press...s there it is.
Just in case anyone else does not know.
Ctrl + t ..... sorts by author.
Ctrl + v ..... sorts your unsolved to the top.
<Dave> (SPOILER) Nice one N7. Mini Puzzles is a strange level (this is meant as a compliment): Room 1 is brilliant, room 2 is just irritating, room 3 ..., room 4 is room 4, the end twist is cool. There are so many ways of solving this we'll be swapping speedruns for ever more. Cheers! |

<N7DOT> 'Mini Puzzles!!!' uploaded by N7DOT:
Four short, relatively simple puzzles strung together, with a fifth one afterwards using what's leftover in all four.
(On a side note, at some point it might be a good idea to replace the current 'chat level' with a new one, as it will eventually be buried too deep to stay practical.) |

<N7DOT> (SPOILER) I'd love to see a 'learn a trick' based off the slider trick in AMC 22 (3551) - but of course, I would be fine if you don't want to make one, Dave. After all, we wouldn't want anything to be too much of a spoiler! |

<N7DOT> (SPOILER) Yeah, I assumed this was for Longer Baggage Handling and not Nice.
<Dave> (SPOILER) I assume this is relevant to the Baggage Handling series, it's not going to help anyvbody with Nice Cote D'Azur.
The trick behind Nice Cote D'Azur has never been reused (to the best of my knowledge), and I would be happy for it to stay that way. |
