<Max> (SPOILER) Man, that phenomenon totally ruins this level as it is... I might try to make another one that discourages this, for the sake of making this level more rigid and focused and for making your new level more unique. ;)
<Max> (SPOILER) It very well could be a cook. I did my last checks very late last night so I'm liable to have missed something. ;) Do the black tiles close right on you as you step on the path out the exit, because you cooked it if not. In which case, I should revamp the mechanism to require the faster solution.
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 84 moves (old: 90).
A little more optimization.
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 90 moves (old: 94).
Well, I was going to base a level on this trick, but I guess people who pay attention and watch cooks will get a bit of a hint for that one.

It turns out that you can get a "permanent" panel effect by having a dalek die by walking into another bot on a panel. This is the right behavior (panels are triggered by the edge effect of an object walking/sliding on or off of the panel), although it is a little unintuitive. Anyway, it's not trivial to employ on this level, but it does make it a bit easier.
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 94 moves (old: 110).
Knowing Max, the way I beat this probably is not a cook, but I'll check.

<Tom 7> (SPOILER) I had to walk back and forth around the level several times to solve this one.

<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 56 moves (old: 62).
Good idea! Might as well speed-run it then. ;)
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Eheh, that certainly is a cook!

You can't modify a level once it's uploaded, because of technical reasons. But you should feel free to upload new versions of levels if you or others discover problems with them. Part of the point of triage is to get this kind of feedback. (That said, I think we do prefer levels to be perfect the first time. ;))

I like this one.

Symmetry2 Mon 18 Apr 2005 11:01
<Milton> This level was actually the very first one I did, and it's the tightest (it seems so far, anyway) in terms of how it must be solved. Hopefully I'll be able to mix more creativity into solid levels in the future. So far, when I've been creative, I've screwed it up.

Surrounded Mon 18 Apr 2005 10:56
<Milton> (SPOILER) Again, one is able to bypass what was intended to be the main solution. Apparently I need to learn to wait a while after building a level to go back and play it a few more times.

The Red, White, & Blue Mon 18 Apr 2005 10:51
<John Lewis> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 99 moves (old: 101).
Cool!

Funhouse Warp Mon 18 Apr 2005 10:51
<Milton> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 62 moves (old: 103).
Bypassed everything, even w/o the "warp."
<Milton> (SPOILER) One of my first efforts. I thought it would be cool to have a quick alternate solution that is not obvious at first glance, but I should have known that it would be a waste w/ so many experienced players. I played it again myself after some time away, and I could totally circumvent even the main puzzle without using the "warp". Is it possible to edit already uploaded levels, or do I just have to go with a new version? I'm not sure if this one is worth it in any case, but I thought I'd ask for future reference.
