<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 167 moves (old: 177).
hah, didn't even notice that! It's funny how there mere presence will make me want to go for 'em. ;)
<Peter> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 177 moves (old: 178).
oops, slight optimization.
<Peter> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 178 moves (old: 293).
Don't need to get all of the hearts...

<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Very cute, although I suck bad at these steel/panel puzzles!

<Adam> (SPOILER) What a silly level! I'm glad I had nothing to do with it. -- Real Adam

<John Lewis> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 74 moves (old: 76).
I think this is the max.

The Robot Escape Plan 2 Sun 05 Jun 2005 16:38
<nLogic> Thanks to bpotetz, here is a much harder version (harder, that is, unless you've already seen the solutions to the original). Do people think the first should be deleted? It wasn't broken, and easy levels are sometimes nice. Comments are appreciated.

The Dalek Question II Sun 05 Jun 2005 11:46
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) What, you don't want to go through every bot level to figure it out? ;) I'm thinking of jcreed's "Save me, hugbot!"
<Max> (SPOILER) Hmm... Which one is that?
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Not just one, in fact, Max. But in the one I'm thinking of it is easy to miss what's happening.

<Tom 7> Sheila: When you rate a level, it checks if you beat the record, and prompts you to send your solution in that case.

You can also select a level, press ctrl-m, then select your solution, hit ctrl-u, and make sure you check the [ ] speedrun only box.

The Dalek Question II Sun 05 Jun 2005 10:04
<Max> (SPOILER) This is not a bug, John -- in fact this exotic phenomenon is already lurking in an existing Escape level. ;)

Crate Packing Sun 05 Jun 2005 09:00
<Doom> I must have missed something then. Someone could make a mod if they think that it's possible to do it with a couple more blocks. I wasn't able to do it, though.

Untitled Sun 05 Jun 2005 08:58
<Doom> (SPOILER) Added speedrun: 20 moves (old: 22).
Seriously, why upload a level like this? There's nothing to do. Terrible...

<SHEILA> It says the record for this level is 211 moves, I solved it in 209 moves. How do you change the record time?

Crate Packing Sat 04 Jun 2005 22:25
<John Lewis> I like this concept (reminds me of an old Chip's Challenge level). I think it could have been harder, though...

But I still enjoyed it!
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Not too hard. I liked the bot lock. But, I feel like I could have probably packed one or two more...

The Dalek Question II Sat 04 Jun 2005 21:48
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Yeah, this is legit and intended, if a bit surprising. Note that the dalek steps onto the panel, but never steps off (because he dies and becomes part of the pile of broken robots). Panels are triggered by the edge effect of stepping onto or off them, not by the presence or absense of something on them. (See also http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/tom7misc/escapex/design.txt?only_with_tag=HEAD&view=markup for more substantial discussion.)

It's up to level authors whether or not to make use of this fact, since it is a bit unintuitive, but it's not a bug.
