I think I've spotted some of the flaws in this and changed it a bit to a slightly different puzzle.
If all goes well it should still be tricky.
<mm> (SPOILER) I managed to solve it your way, but at this moment I can't imagine how to mod it to eliminate the cook. The level seems to have potential indeed!
