<Tom 7> I was afraid to play this one for a while, but it turned out not to be as hard as I thought it would. For me, 811 moves.
It does look nice when it's done! |

<Tom 7> This is a ridiculous level! |

 |
<Max> (SPOILER) Yeah, the first version just seemed a little empty so I decided to pretty it up!
Another pretty thing: there are a variety of symmetrical solutions to this one...
<bpotetz> (SPOILER) Nice one. Green squares are cool.
The yellow triangles didn't affect my solution much, but they're pretty! |

<Max> Tom, you can delete this one if you want; the new version is prettier! |

<Max> It is surprising actually how well the original trick of this level works. Probably in part because it came at a time when almost every single level used the default blue block border...
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) I think I thought the bottom grey block couldn't come out for some reason, perhaps being tricked by my own visual trompe l'oeil.
<Tom 7> Oops, that was sure easy.
I had better fix this level! |

<Max> Ooh, that's a toughie. Took me over 1000 moves. It looks so pretty all put together at the end, though. Neat. |

<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Okay, I will. I think it makes sense to have two versions of this, though this one sort of gives away the solution to the other. |

<Max> (SPOILER) I actually found two different ways to cook this: one using the grey block all the way on the left, and one not using it... 0WN3D.
<Max> (SPOILER) I don't want to spoil the fun. Why don't you just solve the newly uploaded "Skirting Skirting the Issue"? ;) |

<Max> This modification forces you to cook Tom 7's "Skirting the Issue". Mwahaha. |

<Tom 7> (SPOILER) No, you're not supposed to be able to beat it like that. My levels are dropping like flies! How'd you do it?
(I really gotta implement this solution comment attachment thing...)
<Max> (SPOILER) Cook: Whoa, I think I cooked this one! I didn't have to "skirt the issue" to solve it; I never passed under the bottom right blue block... Was this supposed to be possible without sneaking under? |

<Max> (SPOILER) Yeah, Brian, mine is basically the same; I just have block "3" moved down instead of up.
<Max> Thanks, Brian! |

<Max> Yeah, this was my original solution for Square 2 version 1...
<Tom 7> (SPOILER) Yeah, this will mess up the solution I used for Square 2. |

<bpotetz> (SPOILER) Yeah. When I played Square 1, I noticed the red blocks right away, so the solution seemed disapointingly simple to me, and that's why I made the mod. I like Square 3 the best, though. |

<bpotetz> I can't believe I missed that obvious cook.
Tom - I'm not sure if this is what you were talking about in your comment.
Anyway, this is just for the sake of completeness. Max's mod is much cooler than mine.
Moderators (Tom) - feel free to delete the old version. |

<bpotetz> (SPOILER) Damn it, I needed that whitespace!
. . 2 3 .
1 . . . .
8 . x . 4
. . . 6 .
. 7 . 5 .
<bpotetz> (SPOILER) Just for the sake of comparison, I'm going to graph my solution in ASCII, to see if anyone did anything different:
2 3
1
8 x 4
6
7 5
(x is player start, 1-8 are clockwise ordered blocks)
<bpotetz> Nice job, Max!
That is much cooler than my idea, even if Square 2 hadn't been cookable (which I just realized it is). |
