<Doom> (SPOILER) Nice one, indeed.
I think it would've taken me longer if that bomb hadn't caught my attention after a while.
<mjn> Very nice... |

<mm> (SPOILER) This is one more example of Max' wonderful "maxy" levels, Max, I adore your ability to lead us on a holy devil path. Chapeau! It's a really "escapish" level, brilliant work.

<KWM> (SPOILER) wikipedia has an article on sliding block puzzles. I have the Rush Hour game and I used it to help me test designs when I originally designed the layout of this puzzle.
<Tom 7> mm: there's a board game puzzle called "Rush Hour" that this is an embedding of. The level makes a lot more sense if you've seen it. ;)
<mm> (SPOILER) (PS: I'm mm, so almost one of the "MoMs", I could be a Grandma already, I just did not grow up with computers and all those games are kind of new to me, that's why I often just don't understand what "you guys" are talking about!)
<mm> (SPOILER) Sliding block puzzles in general? You seem to have created something like "Traffic Jam" a long time ago, maybe even before knowing about the escape game. So there must exist some classic sliding block thing - what and where could I learn more about classic sliding block puzzles?
<KWM> (SPOILER) Sorry for the confusion. I meant that the puzzle is based on sliding block puzzles in general. The exact layout is my own design.
<mm> (SPOILER) KWM, what is that "classic sliding block puzzle"? (BTW: Speedrun 520? It took me like a million of steps to finally get to the exit...) |

<Mom1> I FINALLY got it. Thanks for the hints.
<Doom> No problem, go ahead. I actually have an improved v2 in my level directory that varies the beginning a bit and tries to fix the biggest cooks of this version.
However, there are still some ways to solve it trivially that I didn't manage to fix, so I've not uploaded it.
<mm> Doom, do you mind if I'd make a mod of this level? |

<mm> (SPOILER) Hi KWM, thanx for answering, I've already been trying to solve it with less than 10 freed red blocks today, so I guess I'm on the right path?!
<KWM> (SPOILER) It's possible to free 9 blocks, but you're right that's not enough, you need ten objects. Read that again.
<mm> (SPOILER) Could someone please help me, too, I do have a huge " M(o)M"-problem with this level! (; 10 red blocks are not enough, how comes that the solution uses less??? I guess I'm missing something, but what??? |
