<radiant> Having that 15 start where it is really makes moving them around awkward (but then again, so does the original 7-wide layout over a 6x6 box).
The layout from my fastest solution has a spot where 15 can go without a hitch, so there's that. |

<N7DOT 3> Oops. I'll have to delete this when I can, but that isn't now. I'm gonna upload a new version though.
<Dave> (SPOILER) 3x2=Stuck, 2x3=Solved. Think we may have a new field of mathematics here.
<N7DOT 2> by 'result many hearts', I mean that the result is equal to the number of hearts produced. |

There. I played it just so your efforts weren(apostrophe)t completely in vain. |

<Dave> (SPOILER) Hats off to anyone who solved this by hand. I have to confess that I gave up and solved it by computer having tested the program out on Botkoban 3 first. As an optimisation exercise I found it nowhere near as difficult as Revenge 5 which took about 3 hours of runtime rather than a few seconds.
In both cases I did use a hash table to record visited positions with minimum step count. You could get probably away without it here as there were just over 1000 entries when I re-ran it with a 71 move limit imposed. That would still require quite a lot of paper if working this out by hand! I may try it by hand using noname's tip but that's for another day when I have a lot of time on my hands...

<Dave> (SPOILER) Solved by computer. With my programming skills it would probably have been quicker the long way! No idea if 29 is really optimal as the program terminated on the first solution found (identical to the speedrun by Adam). Toms original is different from move 3 but converges to the same ending, so I suspect there may be more. |

<wowei> To become a famous philosopher conjugation is an unnecessary skill. (Confuzius too). Typically there are a lot of wise guys, who are quoting a wise man. :-D
I hope you two are haveing fun conjugating my nick, but pay attention to pronounce it right! :-p ;)
<Dave> (SPOILER) I think Confucius once said: If it can be woweied, it can usually be unwoweied. Unwoweiing is fun but conjugation is difficult.
<mm> A great woweied speedrun! ;-) |

<wowei> thanks Dave, i'd be glad to doom (your) speedrun(s) in future ;). - Nah, i really think, i's lucky only and it probably is not optimla and may not last for long.
But what I'm really glad about is, that i was able to solve it at all. it's a wonderfull puzzle.
<Dave> (SPOILER) Oh, the inevitability of it all! My ever-doomed little speedrun has been totally woweied. Very nice job.
<wowei> Nay, Your Highness, I'd never dare to blame Your Majesty on inventing or creating traps - NEVER! (... only placing them there ... ;)
It seems to me that this version of the puzzle is the slickest one so far. Apparently it makes use of all of the elements included. I didn't solve it yet, but at least I have an idea of what is to be done in which order. only i need to prepare and coordinate things a bit more carefully.
great puzzle! |
