It's just like leaving a standalone comment on a level, but instead of using Ctrl+C, you just press Delete.

Very Annoying! But I haven't seen anything like this before, so it is a neat idea, but like I siad, very annoying.

A Vanishing Act-like concept, finally pulled off here. The penalty for walking into a wall is pretty harsh, but it's the best that can be done, and besides we have Undo for that.

Escape design philosophy being what it is, there are obviously many ways to trivialize a level like this if that's what you want. Ctrl+D (without zooming out) works amazingly well.
