I'm afraid even I've forgotten...

Well, it's for the better, trust me. =) Anyway, I think this level could be easily fixed if I remembered what the puzzles were in it. |

Well, the mechanism for making the one-way panels requires you to walk over the pair of panels in the opposite direction now, so it has definitely changed.

Yeah, it's still possible but it feels very different from the old days. I'm not sure if it's because I'm more familiar with how panels work, or if something has changed in the way they work, but I suspect it's the latter so you may as well leave it here as a defunct historical relic of a bygone era...

Is this level still possible, then? Do you want me to reactivate it? |

Actually, this level is probably salvagable. You can do the same one-way panel trick, but you need to have the panels in the opposite order now. I wasn't sure how to recreate all of the effects in this level, though, because I sorta solved it by aimless wandering. ;)

Aw shucks... Legitimacy was so close!

Actually, I take that back. I want to make a simplification so that all panel actions happen at the end of a motion (without robots, a "turn"). Right now that's not the case in a few situations, but they are almost all situations that were previously "warnings," so I don't think it will be a problem to change the behavior. You'll still be able to do what this level does, just in a slightly different way. Hold off on the warning levels for now. (Also, the behavior of stepping from a trap to a panel that targets that trap will change, too). |

After careful thought I decided that the way panels work in this situation is the only sensible behavior. (Otherwise I would have to have chain-reactions of panels, which would include infinite loops, or else some complicated rule!) So, I'm happy to say that this clever level is now legit! The next version of the editor will remove the warnings. Feel free to abuse away in your levels, but remember that comprehensibility is up to you as the level author! |
